Minnehaha County Pheasants Forever will accept applications from area youth ages 12 to 15 for a special opportunity to hunt pheasants on private land in the Viborg area on the JP Denmark Preserve. This is a chance to experience a well-organized, well-supported event for area youth who have hunted little or never before but would like to do so. Members from local dog groups and volunteers from the PF Chapter will provide guidance and support to the young hunters in important areas such as ethics and respect for wildlife. Participants will be required to attend a Hunt Safe Course offered by the GF&P prior to the event. Contact GF&P for classes and times of the course offerings. Applications received will be randomly chosen. Those attending the event will receive a membership to the PF Ringneck club. Parents and guardians are invited to attend and / or participate. We are still looking for volunteers, if you know of any interested adult please contact us. If more applications are received than room for (ap.20), a random drawing will be held to determine the attendees.

I wish to participate in the Pheasant Forever Youth Hunt. I understand that I am required to have attended and have passed a Hunt Safe course offered by a certified instructor and I understand that I will be expected to listen and follow the directions of the mentor and/or dog handler with whom I am paired. I understand that due to limited space, my application does not mean that I am guaranteed a space at the hunt.

I understand the guidelines listed, by which this child will be expected to abide by and that if they are not respectful of the volunteers, they may be asked to leave the event for obvious reasons.
